The Taylor Jones Quartet
Taylor Jones is a guitarist, composer, arranger, and bandleader who has played both as a sideman and bandleader in New York for the past 5 years. He has composed original music for First Stage, worked as bandleader for Dandy Wellington, and played numerous residencies, including at Ella Lounge, Tillman’s, Macao Trading Co., and countless one-offs and sessions including at Smoke, Cuban Revolution, The Seersucker Social, and elsewhere. He has had the honor of playing with Eric Alexander and Mike Ledonne at Smoke, and has had the pleasure of studying under Mykle Lyons, Dave Stryker, Peter Bernstein, and Rufus Reid.
The group features Chris Hall, a Harlem fixture who runs his own sessions at 449 LA and at the Shrine, on bass. A coterie of brilliant young musicians is at the ready to play with the group, including the always inspiring Alex Violette on tenor sax; Allan Mednard, CJ Wright, or Colleen Clark on drums; Satish Robertson on trumpet, and others.
